Report: Chiefs-Jackson Have A Deal

From River Falls, Wisconsin

So that’s why Scott Pioli kept leaving the practice field Thursday afternoon.

The National Football Post website and 610 Sports  in Kansas City are reporting that the Chiefs and No. 1 draft choice Tyson Jackson have agreed to terms.

No word from the Chiefs to make this official. At least three times during the Thursday practice, Pioli left the field and went inside the neighboring building. He seemed to be very busy on the phone.

Stay tuned for more details.

Yeah glad to get this over with. Great job Pioli

now on par with Carl P as a foot shuffling porter – if not in fact a greater i.e., lesser one.

  • August 6, 2009  - Tenand6 says:

This may be why Haley is so wildly passionate about the team not losing— Pioli told him he will never pick higher than 20th in the first round again.

  • August 6, 2009  - RedandGoldRice says:

It’s about time, lets get him in there and get going.

  • August 6, 2009  - alex k says:

well lets also take into account that of the top 15, this is the fewest signed up to this date.

But hey, it must ONLY be Pioli not the CBA or the no cap year, or hey, TJ’s agent wanting too much.

Either way, I wish TJ had just said screw it and shown up early, but thats fine, he can still play in the preseason game….

However this will hurt em…how he bounces back shows us if TJ at 3 was a smart pick.

My guess is he still has 3-4 days on the bike patrol before he passes the fitness test. I would be surprised if a rookie hold out was working as hard as he needed to. He was talking to his buddy Dorsey for tips…

And Rip’em narrowly escapes a big helping of “crow”. Ha!

You called that one right on the money. I salute you!

Not a good time to be walking onto the practice field tomorrow. Mr. Jackson will have all eyes on him. Hopefully he will be in decent to great shape. Surely Tyson is aware & has been watching the news & blogs about Haley Camp & what awaits him… He would be a fool to be out of shape…
There is no doubt in my mind that he will be taking the conditioning test. Probably with his colleagues, coaches & the general public watching.
I could be wrong, but I see Haley putting Tyson on display to show the team that he means business (as if they don’t know that already).
The #1 pick & newbee, overpaid (time will tell)multi millionaire will be set to a very high standard manana.
Anyhow, I’m glad he’s on board & we can concern ourselves with other football matters.
    Go Chiefs!

If the rumor was right about Old Al being at the Chiefs camp . Some one must be on the trading block a QB/D Line / secondary or was Al using that as a excuse to take a look ?????? Times are a changing if we would talk to The Al

  • August 6, 2009  - Scott says:

Yeah, Anonymous…I saw where Bob had written on his CBS camp update page that “Al Davis was in the house again”. But I never saw anything more about it anywhere. And I was still wondering WTF Al Davis is doing at our practices? I mean, seriously…AL DAVIS AT OUR PRACTICES??? I’d really like to know the story here…’cause it sounds like a Twilight Zone episode to me. Bob? Anybody???

  • August 6, 2009  - Scott says:

In case anyone missed it, or doesn’t know what we’re talking about…here’s what Bob said yesterday:

“8:22:44 pm: Raiders owner Al Davis is in the house again. So are Mark Davis, his son, and Raiders chief executive Amy Trask, as well as ex-Raiders great Steve Wisniewski.”

In River Falls? Come on, Bob…I DEMAND an explanation of this!!! Okay, not really…but I’d LIKE one. Ha!

  • August 6, 2009  - Anonymous says:

Maybe ol’ Al is trying to get the low down on the new Patriots team of the AFC West. Why would the Chiefs let the owner of our big rival come to our camp?

At last we have our number 1 signed. Now what is the next thing on the radar for Chiefs fans to complain about?

  • August 7, 2009  - Rin Tin Tin says:

& no doubt invited Al Davis et al to stop by seeing as how he and his Raiders have been far more successful than the team that favor forgot, my Chiefs.

3 Superbowl wins and another SB a loss to merely the greatest pro team ever the GB Packers), more Hall of Fame players than the Chiefs & even more memorable games played – yes it’s hard to admit, but the Oakland Raiders as an organization beat my Chiefs like a drum, winning big considered.

hes there for the same reason the chargers gm had to tell the media he was scared….because he really is scared…The chiefs are changing their atmosphere, they have a completely new outlook, a young core of coach/gm/owner who are all young, an upgraded stadium, a franchise QB signed to 30 mil less than eli manning(with the same or better work ethic). Add in the salary cap space if they ever make a deal on the cap, lots of young talent…there is a lot going on here to be positive about

So Al Davis is just as scared as the chargers GM is.

Tyson Jackson will get killed by Haley in camp, based on what he did to darling for lining up on the wrong side, missing 8 days doesnt win brownie points.

Although, I agree with what he did, you are in the NFL…line up on the correct side.

  • August 7, 2009  - Anonymous says:

Alex K not to mention that these pro players are being paid millions……. more than some make in their life time of hard work . To me teams/coaches don’t demand enough from our pros……….. especially when they don’t even know what side to line up on .

Rumor is he got lost on the way to Raiders training camp. The others came to fetch him.

Could be a big trade in the wind? Hard to see trading in the division, but who knows? Pioli isn’t CP.

  • August 7, 2009  - Rin Tin Tin says:

Yes, Cassell goes to the Raiders, the Chiefs get an autographed copy of the best seller -

“THE OAKLAND RAIDERS: PRIDE & POISE – A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE”

Al & the Raiders come out on the short end of this deal…

  • August 7, 2009  - Niblick says:

Derrick Burgess was traded to New England for a 3rd and 5th round pick yesterday. I wonder if Pioli had an interest in Burgess, and that’s why Al Davis and his staff were in River Falls. We’ll probably never know.

  • August 7, 2009  - alex k says:

exactly anon, thats really what I mean. they are paid a lot of money to play in this league…a LOT of money…we all have seen parents, family members and maybe even ourselves work very very hard for…1/10 of what the min makes…thats just reality…

but if you are paid like that, its your job to line up on the correct side…thats a mistake made by pop warner kids…and even then, I remember it happening maybe once to someone, and it was really really annoying…so I can only imagine in the NFL, If I were Haley, Id cut him to make room for Jackson.

I’m going to break my own rule…..the truth is out…Rint tint toot is a raider fan.
It figures, only a loser raider fan would try to ruin the Chiefs best site.
    Pathetic…..
