Practice Report 10/16 Updated

From the Truman Sports Complex

FS Jarrad Page was back to practice Friday morning but LT Branden Albert was still riding the stationary bike as the Chiefs went through their final workout of the week.

Page is coming back from a shoulder injury, but whether he’s active on Sunday against the Redskins remains questionable. Jon McGraw will start in his spot. Since Page’s role in the kicking game is minimal, there’s a chance he could be an inactive player.

“He’s  much improved,” Todd Haley said of Page. “He was in there running around and he made great strides from yesterday to today.”

Wade Smith was again working with the first-team offensive line at left tackle for Albert and looks like the starter there on Sunday. But Haley would not rule Albert out of action.

“He’s making huge strides,” said  Haley. “He’s doing everything in his power. He’s walking and getting around and doing things now that he wasn’t able to do.”

Both Page  and Albert will be listed as questionable on the team’s injury report to the league office. G Andy Alleman will be listed as probable. Haley said there’s a chance that Albert could be active on Sunday, but  not start. He also did not rule out a possible move of Barry Richardson up from the practice squad.

Haley had his team working inside today.

we have had a lot of one game injuries to our starters

Yeah, because they are too embarrassed to play. I’d rather sit one game out than play hurt and get more injured.

Please do not trade Dorsey, I heard he was on the trading block but he will only get better as the season goes along, he will build up his confidence.

Really digging Haley! I don’t care about the record. Ofcourse I want to win, and I’m sure they want to win more than I do, but there is a huge difference between Herm and Haley. Haley seems like a Head Coach. I could picture Herm being his DB Coach.

    GO CHIEFS

I’d be really suprised to see Dorsey traded. I don’t think he’s going anywhere. Derrick Johnson may be a different story, though. With the trade deadline coming right up…I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Rumors abound on the internet about the Chiefs looking into trading for Cleveland WR Josh Cribbs. Oakland and Miami may be in the hunt as well. Cribbs is one of the BEST all around special teamers in the league as a KR/PR/gunner. Not to mention, he has the versatility to run the wildcat, run the ball, and catch passes. I know his offensive number aren’t much this year, but the Browns are even worse than we are. I’d love to see Haley get a chance to use a player of Cribbs’ potential.

Might the Browns be interested in taking DJ off of our hands? We just signed another LB this week so DJ will have even more competition getting in his way here. Who knows if it will actually happen, but if Pioli pulls off this trade then his grade this year will go up in my mind. At the very least, Cribbs will give us a Pro Bowl lever return threat again! I’m keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath either.

I agree, Colby. Cribbs would be a great addition. Our return game is horrible!

Problem with rumors, though…is they’re rumors.

The Browns have Cribbs under contract. Although he’s unhappy with what he’s making now, and wants a long-term deal with better money…the Browns really have no incentive to get rid of him. Or give him the contract he wants, for that matter. Unless someone makes them one helluva deal, I’d say he’s stuck where he is. Also, Cleveland sucks. They only have a couple of decent players, and Cribbs is one of them. So I don’t know if they would actually trade him, without getting something BIG in return. Hey…maybe we could throw LJ into the offer, too.

Get rid of DJ and LJ in one package for a 3rd and 4th round pick.

Send them to San Francisco who needs depth in both areas.

I agree with Kenny. Oh yeah, except for the L.J. part. Idiot.

    Go CHIEFS!
