Practice Report 11/6 Update

From the Truman Sports Complex

Ordinarily, a football player sprains his medial collateral ligament in his knee and he’s out four to six weeks. But every person’s body and mind are different when it comes to injury and Rudy Niswanger is  proving that again.

It looks like the Chiefs are going to have their starting center available for Sunday’s game in Jacksonville. Niwsanger was a full  participant in Friday’s practice and Todd Haley has him listed as probable for playing against the Jaguars.  Niswanger sprained the MCL in his left knee on Oct. 25 against San Diego. He missed the bye week practices, but returned this week.

But added to the injury report on Friday was RG Mike Goff with a shoulder injury. Goff was limited in his participation in Friday’s practice and is listed as questionable for the game.

CB Mike Richardson was back on the practice field Friday morning. He missed Wednesday and Thursday practices because of illness. Richardson is listed as probable.

Not practicing was FS Jon McGraw, who continues his attempt to recover from a leg muscle strain. The Chiefs list him as doubtful. Second-year man DaJuan Morgan will take his spot in the starting lineup.

Todd Haley said that recently added WR Chris Chambers has worked hard to get prepared for this Sunday’s game and there’s “a chance he can be up and contributing.”

The Chiefs have until Saturday to make a decision on RB Kolby Smith. He’s practiced for the last three weeks and that window of opportunity closes with team having three options: active hm, return him the PUP list for the remainder of the season, or release him.  Expect the Chiefs to activate Smith and expect him to play on Sunday.

hmm, so basically it will be morgan/brown at safety, with daniels/leggett possibly rotating and richardson working some nickel…I bet D-Wash goes inactive again.

this should be an interesting game to say the least

If they can’t stop MJD…Garrard won’t even NEED to throw the ball.

I don’t think Del Rio plans on letting Garrard throw the ball around too much anyways. Based off of last weeks performance, Garrard could make be a blessing in disguise for our rag tag secondary that we are going to have to field for this game.

Let’s go Chiefs! Get the will together and find us a way to win this game!

I hope Goff doesn’t play. He hasn’t looked very good this year. I’d like to see if Alleman or Ndukwe can step in and solidify that spot. Ndukwe is probably a better guard than tackle because his feet seemed to slow for the outside. Plus, those two are still very young and can be a part of our long term plans. Goff was just meant to be a band-aid this year and it really hasn’t worked. No big loss, but let’s get one of those youngsters out there. If Ndukwe or Alleman can play RG going forward, that’s one less position we’ll have to worry about next year!

If Ndukwe or Alleman can play RG for the rest of the year that’s one position that would help out the line tremendously. Goff should have been benched after the Eagles game. Too bad we can’t find another C.

Agreed with all of you about Golf these injuries may turnout to be a blessing in disguise. Because Morgan will bring some speed to the safety position and Alleman or Ndukwe will do better than Goff for sure. NOt to mention I think Charles will hit the few holes that’s been there at time on the o-line faster than LJ. Its going to be an interesting game come Sunday.
