Chiefs Injury List Is 9

From River Falls, Wisconsin

The Chiefs will hit the practice field this morning for the first full session of 2009 training camp apparently without nine players.

On Friday, the team placed the following players on the Non-Football Injury list: DT Ron Edwards, DE Dion Gales, RG Mike Goff, RT Damion McIntosh, LG Brian Waters and LB Demorrio Williams.

Placed on the PUP List were: DE Glenn Dorsey, TE Jake O”Connell and RB Kolby Smith.

None of those moves ends any of those players season, or even training camp.

Oh wow… I have to think that these are the people that failed the conditioning test. Sucks though, cuz that’s like half our offensive line.

    That’s 3 outta 4 expected starting O-Linemen missing.

Not to mention the possible starting NT, and DJ’s probable replacement

    Ain’t life grand!

    Resign nee leave - ASAP/STAT!!!

All of KC will be behind you in this (kicking you as you flee)

    heh heh heh

    “Any 22″, huh? Apparently.

So these are the players that didnt make a fast enough time on the conditioning run? Williams I thought was a fast LB, guess not.

  • August 1, 2009  - Blake says:

or maybe he just didnt make his correct weight.

  • August 1, 2009  - anonymous says:

If it does go to a pay website, I think its worth it(depending on the cost)…

keep up with the information, and let us know what Dorsey on PuP means if you hear anything in terms of what happened to dorsey.

    Dateline: River Falls
Time ‘check’: Now 11:21 a.m. CST, Day 2
    Condition: Gloomy
    Prognosis: Terminal

“Anyone seen my #1 draft pick?” (holdout his now in Day 2)

“Anyone help us find any better ‘any 22s’ than me & my esteemed GM have managed to acquire?”

More grief to come… back at 10, see you then.

I was hoping the Chiefs would bring in Deon Murphy, the WR from the supplemental draft to try and win the KR/PR job. He was great in college and that position sounds like a big need.

    Dear “Great Intellect,”

Seems you still haven’t looked up the difference between nay and nee. Geez — at least get that much right.

  • August 1, 2009  - deliveryMan says:

I’m a big moron. Nay. Nee in fact, the biggest.

  • August 1, 2009  - Scott says:

“3 of your brand new hand-picked “any 22″s - Goff - Gales & O’Connell - ‘failed’ to impress nee the test;”

And neither did your lover Brian Waters.

  • August 1, 2009  - True Red & Gold says:

The non-football list is made up of those that did not pass the so called physical exam. Which means they did not make weight or did not pass the conditioning test (most likely both). Which by the way is not a test of their athletic ability but a test of how in shape they are.

Haley means business and that should be a good thing. I understand his wanting these guys in shape so they can get more work done but it is a long season and I hope they have legs left by the end of the season.

  • August 1, 2009  - anonymous says:

    Scott,

    Your a dumb ass!

  • August 1, 2009  - alex k says:

    Rin:

HALEY: “I won’t get into numbers but we had a handful of guys who are not going to pass the physical right now for a number of different reasons. We don’t have anybody who’s real far off and that’s what I feel real good about. We should have everybody going pretty soon.

So….why make a big deal over injuries DAY ONE in camp? I dont know.

also, dorsey doesnt have a bad knee, its a shin issue. Can get that quote as well if you need it.

Of course, a direct quote doesnt matter if its not via Herm

  • August 1, 2009  - Scott says:

I’m a big moron. Nay nee even meow much bigger even than deliveryMan, yes without question. THE biggest evidenced by my inability to read and discern gist Master Rin’s post:

“hand-picked”s Haley & Pioli’s own being more egregious errors than those already were here afore, 2008.

To borrow from my better, Rin: No KC Masterpiece this nee theys, H&P.

What is it Haley says, ‘any 22 will do’? Rin was certainly right. Haley hasn’t a clue what he do.

  • August 1, 2009  - alex k says:

With all die respect Scott, I alex k am even a bigger moron than you.

[...] Courtesy of Bob Gretz, here are some names for the injury list. [...]

  • August 1, 2009  - Michael Price says:

The “any 22 players” reference seems to get mischaracterized quite a bit around here. Reminds me of the misquoted “5 year plan” attributed to our old friend, CP.

The ‘any 22 players’ statement attributed to Haley has never been confirmed. It was put out by one columnist that PARAPHRASED an anonymous source. The columnist wrote:

“According to the source, Waters flew to Kansas City specifically to meet with Haley and Pioli and hear their plan for the direction of the organization. Pioli declined to meet with Waters, saying they had nothing to discuss, the source said. And Haley began his hallway conversation with Waters by proclaiming that 22 players off the street could win two games, the source said.”

Even this unconfirmed paraphrase doesn’t equate to “any 22 will do” as some here continue to misstate.
