Game-Day Inactives/Cassel Is Out

From Baltimore, Maryland

It’s a partly sunny, muggy and windy day at M&T Bank Stadium for the 2009 season opener between the Chiefs and Ravens.

QB Matt Cassel is one of the team’s eight inactive players for today’s game. Along with the other Chiefs QBs, Cassel worked out throwing the ball for about 30 minutes starting at 9:45 a.m. CDT.  Cassel threw the ball OK, but he had no movement either to his left or right and his drops were not quick and certain. Brodie Croyle was the first quarterback in line for throwing the football; expect him to start the game.

Also inactive for the game is CB Brandon Flowers, who was listed as questionable all week with his injured left shoulder.

Other inactives for the Chiefs are:  RB Dantrell Savage, TE Jake O’Connell, G Andy Alleman, OLB Turk McBride and OLB Pierre Walters.

Matt Gutierrez is the inactive third quarterback.

Inactive for the Ravens: RB Jalen Parmele, LB Dannell Ellerbe, OT Oniel Cousins, OL Tony Moll, TE L.J. Smith, NT Brandon McKinney and DE Paul Kruger. John Beck is the inactive third quarterback.

Uh no, sorry Kansas City Chiefs & Bob G et al, but there must be some mistake.

alex k specifically told us and Rin – each and every – the Mutt Ca$$el was starting today for the Chiefs. This was sacrosanct & just cannot
be changed w/o al’s express written consent.

So then to review, al said “you can count on it”, Rin told al & the rest “don’t count your chicken before he’s hatched” – the yokes on you.

Rin was & nee is right. Again. As always. Mutt’s knee tis naught. Right. ‘check’

Final score: Ravens 38 chiefs 0

And what is THIS? No Andy “Chicklets” Alleman? Our vice (least one of them) today being no Miami he?

No chance for to scream Alle’alleincomefree’man to the Ravens defensive lineman – Highway 62 is now open and ready for unfettered free passage.

And no Brandon Flowers? Too? Neither? Oh this cru-el humanity – so many now built in excuses for Chiefsfandumb point to – and they will – as raison for today’s blowout ‘L’oss to come…

This stinks. I want the Chiefs to win but if they do then all the Croyle worshipers will be given fuel to keep spouting their gibberish. Oh well….GO CHIEFS!

Tis a matter of 3’s to start the game: Ravens make the Chiefs go 3 and out – Ravens make it look easy – 3-0 Baltimore after one possession

2nd KC series, another 3 and out…a whiney Hailme is already screaming like a loon on the sidelines – at no one in particular… heh heh heh!

Gotta go now…time for another Ravens score!

    Total yards -

BALT 134 vs Clancy’s ‘new’ improved kc defense; Hailme’s ‘new’ improved kc offense ( -4 )

And STILL only 2/3 rds of the way through quarter 1 – like Rin told all ya alls- it was gonna get ugly; has become so…

  • September 13, 2009  - Rin Tin Tin says:

3rd KC series…3rd 3 and out … oh criminy, tis time to punt again Dusty Colquitt; shall we score once more Ravens? Indeed, let’s…

    END OF QUARTER ONE

Ravens 10 points, 135 yards, no qualms or problems; alas for KC 0 points & no hope too – but – 5 yards theirs just for s****s and giggles…like this -

  • September 13, 2009  - Rin Tin Tin says:

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand in a 1st half TOTALLY DOMINATED by the Ravens, our score:

    BALT 10, Rin 7, chiefs 0

The ‘new’ improved offense lays an egg – 0 points, 1 first down …no pool no phone no pets, ain’t got no ath-e-letes… ain’t King of the Road!

    heh heh heh

  • September 13, 2009  - Rin Tin Tin says:

And now, Rin’s halftime analysis (ne’er be confused with Analonymous his)

BALT clearly the superior team on offense, defense and special teams…all 3 phases. 215 total yards for the Ravens – and [ drumroll ] 56 (cough-cough, sputter) for the Hailme men…

In conclusion, if anything BALT relaxed and took kc too lightly – if said be possible – this has been a walk in the park for BALT so far, should continue to be.

Little ‘e’ for a little effort chiefs – but no cigar… Ravens take the ball start of the 2nd half and SCORE!

  • September 13, 2009  - Rin Tin Tin says:

What sorcery be this? BALT allows kc score? Magic must be – magic…but not enough will it be…

  • September 13, 2009  - Rin is a Moron says:

We all learned today that the idiot known as “Rin” cannot read.

He badly underestimated the Chiefs’ competitiveness, and vastly overrated his own ability to predict a football game.

The Chiefs scored more than 0 points, Rin. 24 points more than 0.

I suggest you take some literacy classes. They might enrich your life.

What we’re all dying to ask you, Rin, is how does it feel to be completely wrong about everything? You now know the feeling, so we’re all dying to hear about it. Tell us, Rin. Tell us how it feels now that you’ve made a complete fool of yourself and exposed yourself to be a fraud and a laughing stock?

  • September 13, 2009  - Rin Tin Tin says:

And now “Rin’s Review” brought to you by the one – the only – Rin Tin Tin!

    daddy-o

So then, what can we as KC Chiefs fans take from today’s game? Another ‘L’ yes to be certain – but then we knew that was going to be the case…this game was ne’er in doubt.

Rin’s 38 Ravens 0 chiefs ‘new’ ‘o’ as in OH MY! CALLED SHOT FINAL SCORE too came to pass; again, no surprise His greatness.

Positives from today: Rin was right again, Chiefsfandumb wrong yet once more, per the usual.

The stars – Herm’s Men Chiefs – all of them!

QB Brodie Croyle – will & should be the starter next week vs OAK ‘if’ KC wants any chance to win. He’s the best QB on the team plus ‘The Money Pit’ Mutt Ca$$el be still but a backup QB, has owweee; too has no tolerance for pain obviously.

The others? All Herm’s Men all the time!

    Dwayne Bowe – Herm’s Man!
    Mark Bradley – Herm’s Man!
    Tamba Hali – Herm’s Man!
    Jon McGraw – Herm’s Man!
    Derrick Johnson – Herm’s Man!

Oh, all 32 of Herm’s Men were the raison Chiefs had a chance any, the 21 & “any 22’s’ the rasion in entirety KC was clobbered.

Mr. Irrelevant was so no need to mention him…he being but an anomoly.

Hope for the future? None. Nothing good comes out of a loss – why every Chiefs fan herein this blog said so themselves last season when the Coach/GM had different names – can be no different in 2009 – that would be niggardly.

So then, it has come to pass: ‘I can take ANY 22 guys from off the street and… go 0-5″

Rin said many times afore that if the Chiefs do not win game 2 v OAK they’ll not win a game any until December… He saw no raison at all today to change that sentiment.

Come next Sunday night, barring a miracle, will be 0-6…and counting.

Oh, by the way: DEN’ new Head Coach won today – he as the Broncos now 1-0.

Rin will be staying here to comment further and address all his fans comments…

You’re pathetic. You’re a joke. You’re in such desperate search for attention that you trot yourself out and behave like an idiot on a daily basis, and it’s pitiful. You live in your own perceived (and incorrect) reality where you ignore anything that contradicts your (incorrect) viewpoints. You’re a pitiful example of a human being, and I dearly hope you haven’t caused the lives of anyone else to be a sad and pathetic as yours obviously is.

I now leave the floor to more of your delusional, psychotic ramblings. Have at it, moron.

  • September 13, 2009  - Rin Tin Tin says:

This question just in to Rin from Scottie and his brother alex k: it is – “Did the Ravens look flat today?’

Excellent question, thank you ail & scrotum. Yes they did yet despite that fact they won in a walk.

Baltimore relaxed early in this game after they saw how easy it was going to be/how far superior to KC they were. Rin asked His Father for a gift and so He gave kc 7, Flacco too felt sorry gave kc 7, then their field goal kicker he too decided that errancy in lieu of piling on would be the kind thing to do.

Otherwise, score would have been 48-3…that the NFL cannot have, much too embarrassing, but said is the type of beating KC will be just as likely to get each & every Sunday.

    Again, thanks for the question!

Rin, I’ve have a question. I’ll be honest, I don’t read all of your posts, they are too hard to follow. The last one you made is that Herm’s boys kept us in the game. For the most part I agree with you, Bowe did a fabulous job when they threw to him, Tamba was a beast. He did great. McGraw had 1 great play. But to say that Bradley and Croyle did good. I can’t agree with that. Croyle threw a 5 yard check down pass with 1 second left on the clock. WHY? What does that do for you. At the end of the game, he threw 3 passes and none of them were past the 1st down marker? What’s the point? Bradley, we need 9 yards for a first down, he runs an 8 yard pattern? What’s the point? Don’t get me wrong, I liked Herm, he did what needed to be done. Vermeil made us an old team and Herm came in and did what needed to be done. But I think that Hailey is going to come in and make this team accountable. I don’t think Herm did that. Your take? Right? Wrong? And can you please make it something that is understandable?

I dont agree that the defense looked better other then the special teams, the defense couldn’t stop the pass, and on that TD by Flacco the chiefs d looked ridiculous, they were running around in circles… Todd Heap is a good TE but for him to be as open as he was shouldn’t have happened, the offense looked subpar, ecspecially in the late going… I would have thought a Haley Offense would have a play to get 18 yards… The receiver play looked decent, Larry Johnson definately didn’t look ready to play the Ravens as previously stated in a Bob Gretz article..

  • September 13, 2009  - arrowhead1978 says:

Overall I think the team played well, but the same as they played last year also, it would have helped if Flowers could have been in the starting lineup, I think Leggett got owned on a couple plays covering the right side, Croyle actually looked good, I was surprised to see him playing as well as he did.

I have been a fan of this site for a long time but have never posted. Today I would like to because Rin has irritated me to no end. The Chiefs played a very good game. To be tied late in the game on the road in such a hostile place was truly impressive. I give a lot of respect to my Chiefs today. Let’s get those Raiders next week. After week 2 Chiefs 1-1. Tied for second in the division.

  • September 13, 2009  - Chiefs Fan 82 says:

Now about my disappointments with the game. The offense was very flat. Brodie did a good job today protecting the football but there were so many times out there it looked like he had never played in the NFL. He had horrible game management. Wasn’t getting under center and getting the play snapped.(Herm’s Player) Mark Bradley also had a good game; except someone should mention to him on 3rd and 8, he should go further than 7 yards. He did that twice. (Herm’s Player) The Chief’s secondary got owned today. Partly because we couldn’t get pressure on the quarterback but playing 8 yards off the line of scrimmage doesn’t help either. (Herm’s Players) The middle linebackers are a pathetic group on this team. Demorrio Williams is a waste. How he beat out DJ (who is garbage also), I have no clue. Dj did have a nice pick though. Our middle linebackers can’t play in coverage for beans and against the run were nonexistent. Cory Mays was a disappointment today after his good preseason. It is so sad the lack of depth this team was left with when Haley took over. I was not happy with the hiring of Pendergast and I think that was shown today. I feel Pioli didn’t have much to choose from….

Goff was impressive as well. Offensive play calling needs to get better. I think LJ should only be used on dives up the middle. If he has to stutter step or sweep to the outside, he sucks. On most of the straight up the gut plays he was getting around 4 yards, which I like. I was not happy the Chiefs didn’t get rid of him though. I think he is an overrated RB who did well behind a good line.

I am sorry for ranting about Herm. I liked Herm but when Rin starts his BS about Haley not being good after his first game, I get irritated. I like Haley. Thought it was a good hire. Again, Pendergast not so much. Krumrie I think is possibly not helping either. It is his D-Line that cannot get to the QB.

This was the first game and I think there is tremendous upside. The D needs to improve, but I do think it will be a good year. Loads better than 2-14. End of year prediction, at worst, 8-8. This team will learn to win and they will get addicted to it and then we’ll really start rolling. One thing this Haley team will have by the end of the season is consistency and passion. There are good things to come in Kansas City.

Chiefs Rock! They were fun to watch. Pesky defense. Offense came to life later in the game.

Rin Sucks balls. It’s a good day.

“I have been a fan of this site for a long time but have never posted. Today I would like to because Rin has irritated me to no end.”

    - thank you, and welcome!

“The Chiefs played a very good game. To be tied late in the game on the road in such a hostile place was truly impressive. I give a lot of respect to my Chiefs today.”

    - well go ahead, only a mother could love ‘em…

“Now about my disappointments with the game.”

    - uh oh – release the hounds!

    “The offense was very flat.”

    - that’s the ‘new’ game planned offensive, QB coached & OFF & CO-ORD…

“Brodie did a good job today protecting the football”

    - indeed!

    “but”

    - [drumroll], cue Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, the “everybody’s got a big but” scene, Take 2 (many)

    “there were so many”

    - see?

“times out there it looked like he had never played in the NFL.”

    - he hasn’t hardly, been injured courtesy that not so robust o-line his… should be six feet under by now, probably.

    “He had horrible game management.”

    - he had a horrible game manager yelling in his ear > He also had an invisible offensive line between him & the Ravens…

“Wasn’t getting under center and getting the play snapped.(Herm’s Player)”

    - fan82, hiding under the center would’ve made no difference- the Ravens would still have found him there…

“Mark Bradley also had a good game; except someone should mention to him on 3rd and 8, he should go further than 7 yards. He did that twice. (Herm’s Player)”

    - personally coached the WRs ALL TRAINING CAMP LONG- now, he’s doing the same for the rest of the offense- what excitement! Can hardly wait to see what happens next…

“The Chief’s secondary got owned today. Partly because we couldn’t get pressure on the quarterback but playing 8 yards off the line of scrimmage doesn’t help either. (Herm’s Players)”

    - Mike Brown – a & man nee signee who allowed the game winning TD…SWEET. Herm’s man Flowers also did not play. Herm’s man Pollard too was gone…seems to me it was s Chiefs got there backsides stomped today…

“The middle linebackers are a pathetic group on this team. I was not happy with the hiring of Pendergast and I think that was shown today.”

    - don’t forget about Mike ‘The Unable’ Vrabel; he is another failure brought to kc…

“I feel Pioli didn’t have much to choose from.”

    - ’search’? He’s the best GM candidate in all the NFL according to Chiefsdumb. . .so who was wrong, they or is it the wrong man for the job ?

Chiefs Fan 82. I have to say, I agree with your posting. Croyle looked like he has never been in a two minute drill. Bradley, for being a veteran, couldn’t find the first down line. The defense didn’t step up when they needed to.

On the bright side, I can see progess and I think we will be better with a few more games under our belts.

“It was truly pathetic seeing that.”

    - 2 tabs windowpane acid or 3?

“In think Ndukwe did a very good job at RT.”

    - yes, he & Mike Goff were both beasts out there today-

    “Goff was impressive as well.”

    - uh huh … would that be via his blowing open holes for 29 yards rushing on 17 attempts or his stellar pass blocking resulting in 3 sacks?

“I am sorry for ranting about Herm. I liked Herm but when Rin starts his BS about Haley not being good after his first game, I get irritated. I like Haley. Thought it was a good hire. -I didn’t realize Mike Brown’s jersey said Carr on the back of it? I guess my mistake.

” Terrell Suggs, 3-time all pro… right. ‘check’”

-I didn’t realize Terrell Suggs jersey said Johnson on the back of it? I must’ve been watching a different game…

Or maybe Rin was spending too much time being a dolt blogging like a spaz all game that he missed what everybody else saw during the game

Afraid not my friend. Why are you so negative toward the Chiefs? It brings out the worst in everyone on the site. Is it because Herm was fired?
