It’s Official: Cassel Will Wear No. 7
New Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassesl will be wearing No. 7 this season for the Chiefs.
During his time with the Patriots he wore No. 16, but that number is retired in red and gold since it belonged to Hall of Famer Len Dawson.
So Cassel went with No. 7.
The last Chiefs player to wear the numer was kicker Justin Medlock in 2007. Other quarterbacks who have worn the number were John Huarte (1969-71), Mike Nott (1976), Ron Jaworski (1989), Ted White (1999), Joe Germaine (2001) and Casey Printers (2006). Only Huarte, Nott and Jaworski got on the field.
Am I the only one that checks this site 4 or 5 or 6 times a day?
JB
No lol
Lol….3 to 1 that Matt Cassell plays like Casey Printers…lets hope that Pioli is right about this kid,for just 1 year maybe its not that bad of a gamble! LETS MAKE HIM EARN A LONG TERM CONTRACT BEFORE WE ANNOINT THIS 1 YEAR WONDER!!!!!!!!
josh…no
Its been pretty quite on the blog thank god . Without asshole/ anonymous & many other names he uses . It must be tough waking up to that many personalities everyday . The only thing they have in common is his title asshole … That we all agree on .
Remember when Rintard said that Cassel wouldn’t recieve a number because “Mutt” Cassel is going to be traded for Jay “I ride the short bus” Cutler!?
Ditto with checking this site multiple times a day. Best & most accurate site out there.
I wish Bob would open up a direct Q&A for us to send him with questions once a week. It would make a nice touch, but he may not want to lose his neutrality on subjects.
Jorge says:
“Remember when Rintard said that Cassel wouldn’t recieve a number because “Mutt” Cassel is going to be traded for Jay “I ride the short bus” Cutler!?’
And wouldn’t it be the ultimate bitch if he was right…since Denver is now openly shopping Cutler?
Pioli wouldn’t…would he?
You know…Cutler does have some skills. All he really lacks is maturity. And some humility. With some proper coaching? You know…his next stop just might be where he really puts the whole thing together.
Nah!
I’m betting Detroit is working on an offer right now…as I type. And the 49′ers, too.
You know what is going to be a witch don’t you? If the Broncos get the Lions #1 draft pick, and then they nab Curry. That would be just like those stinking Donkeys. Man that would hack me off.
Josh,
Only 6?
Josh….of course you are not the only one checking this site multiple times a day. I’m sure Bob looks at it all the time. But seriously…this is the best Chiefs website out there in my view. I don’t say that lightly. kcchiefs.com is a close second….it’s got Bob’s writings too.. Thanks Bob….never stop!
TCharlton….that is a terrible thought….but very possible. Lets hope the Lions don’t go for him.
What will he wear when Nick the Kick is inducted…jersey retired…all that.
Sorry, I just spilled my…coffee!
Got get a #7 Jersey. If Pioli thinks Cassel can play, sign him to a long term contract. 14 mil is to much to chance on one year and a 5 years deal will take care of the immediate future. Denver is in a real bind to get a deal completed. Cutler has skills but why give up much in trade, eventually a team can get him for free if he gets released?
I am on this site just the correct amount of time unless you ask my wife.
Hey…onebeef
Check your program I do not think Nick Lowrey wore #7. I beleive it was #8.
